Uber Technologies Inc. is partnering with grocery chain Hy-Vee to deliver on-demand and scheduled grocery delivery to customers throughout the Midwest, strengthening their grocery selection in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Over 260 Hy-Vee grocery and liquor stores will be available to shop through Uber and Uber Eats, allowing customers to order all their Hy-Vee favorites right to their doorsteps.

"Uber Eats has been growing in popularity among many of our customers, making this partnership a win-win for both parties," said Aaron Wiese, president, Hy-Vee. "As we expand our offerings, we want to be where our customers are comfortable placing an online order. This launch allows us another avenue to offer our products and best serve the needs of our shoppers."

In concurrence with the partnership and to celebrate the third year of Uber Eats as the official on-demand food delivery partner of the NFL, Uber Eats announced a sweepstake for customers ordering from Hy-Vee locations, offering order discounts, along with chances to win tickets to the 2023 NFL Kickoff on September 7, 2023.

"Together, we know we can make it easier than ever to have groceries and alcohol items delivered on-demand to doorsteps across the Midwest—and we're especially excited to be offering both consumers and couriers across the region the chance to attend one of the hottest kickoff games of the NFL season,” said Christian Freese, head of grocery and new verticals, US & Canada, Uber.

As part of the new partnership, Uber One members will continue to have a $0 delivery fee and 5% off on Hy-Vee orders of $35 or more.

Uber’s grocery category has consistently grown in the U.S. since launching in July 2020, thanks to partnerships with Albertsons Companies, Meijer, Kroger, SpartanNash, Grocery Outlet, and other retailers. Uber offers grocery, convenience, alcohol, and retail selections in 30+ countries, with over 130 million people using the Uber platform globally.
