The company is undergoing a leadership shuffle, naming Artemis Patrick to the role of CEO of North America beginning in April of next year when Jean-André Rougeot retires, according to several sources

Starting in October, and through this transition period, Patrick becomes president of Sephora North America. In addition, Sephora has named Priya Venkatesh to global chief merchandising officer beginning in October, promoting her from SVP of global merchandising.

The slow transition will allow Patrick to become familiar with the role, which will ultimately manage e-commerce, tech, supply chain, and store strategy. Additionally, Patrick will help develop Sephora’s two-year strategy for 2025. She has been with the company since 2006

The news comes just months after Guillaume Motte, who is organizing the leadership moves, entered the role of Sephora CEO in January after having worked with parent company LVMH as its deputy chief executive since 2021.

During that time, Sephora has undertaken several new initiatives. In April, the company announced it would be launching the Beauty (Re)Purposed program across 600 stores in the U.S. and Canada. The initiative looks to make recycling and refill packaging more accessible for shoppers.

Additionally, the company has doubled down on its highly successful Sephora at Kohl’s strategy, adding another 250 beauty stores within its locations in 2023 alone. This will total 850 stores — the company’s initial goal for the Sephora rollout.
