In addition to launching more than 60 freestanding locations and 200 locations inside Kohl’s stores later this year — making the beauty retailer’s largest store expansion — Sephora is also launching buy-online-pickup-in-store at all freestanding stores by April.

The BOPIS addition comes after several months of offering its “Reserve Online Pickup In Store” service, which enables clients to reserve products in their local Sephora stores for up to 48 hours.

The new standalone Sephora locations will begin to open this month, with stores planned in the Pacific Northwest, Florida, Texas, California and Tennessee. They will feature new lighting enhancements.

The Kohl’s shop-in-shop destinations, first announced late last year, will initially open in the greater Los Angeles area, as well as New York, New Jersey and the Midwest.  These locations will feature 2,500-square-foot interactive customer experiences with more than 100 makeup, skincare, hair and fragrance brands.

They will also replace Kohl's current in-store beauty assortment. Exterior signage at stores with the Sephora shops will display both Kohl's and Sephora branding, and they’ll be staffed by Sephora-trained “beauty advisors.”
