Hy-Vee is teaming with Google to bring its customer experiences to the next level.

The grocer, which operates more than 275 retail stores in eight states, has signed a multiyear partnership to elevate its in-store and online experiences by tapping into Google Cloud’s technology suite. The partnership is expected to improve online shopping on its Aisles Online services through localized information and features.

Enhancements will include more personalized services; streamlined ordering, pickup and delivery; and predictive shopping carts. The technology will also integrate Hy-Vee’s virtual dietitian services and enable customers to schedule vaccinations online.

“The pandemic accelerated many digital initiatives for Hy-Vee as consumers shifted the way they shopped at our stores,” said Aaron Wiese, Hy-Vee president, digital growth, and COO. “Google Cloud is helping us provide a unique and more personalized experience as we work to integrate all our digital platforms and look to further simplify the customer’s interaction with our services — whether that be in our aisles in person or online.”

Hy-Vee is also working on offering personalized coupons for its Hy-Vee Plus membership program, which it launched last year, as well as an integrated shopping experience across its mobile app.

In addition to improving its online experiences, the grocer has taken steps to boost in-store CX through such partnerships with The W Nail Bar and DSW shop-in-shops.
