Dollar Tree is bolstering its leadership team, naming Mike Kindy as chief supply chain officer.

Kindy brings more than 34 years of experience across retail logistics management and distribution center operations. His previous roles include EVP focused on supply chain strategy, overseeing transportation, distribution, demand chain, allocations, procurement and master data management.

He has worked in leadership roles for companies like ConAgra Foods, Safeway, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and was the EVP of global supply chain for direct competitor Dollar General for 12 years until 2021, according to his LinkedIn.

Kindy said he is eager to work with Dollar Tree and Family Dollar talent to reshape the company’s supply chain, improve the associate and customer experience, and contribute “in a significant way to the company’s overall performance.”

“Efficiencies and productivity improvements come from many places — we’ll get to the next level by using the right data, analytics, and automation to drive results,” Kindy added.

“Improving our overall operating efficiency is contingent on a strong, resilient supply chain,” said Rick Dreiling, chairman and CEO of Dollar Tree, Inc. “I’m pleased to have the opportunity to work with high-caliber leaders like Mike and the rest of our expert leadership team to drive improved supply chain performance, architect our next chapter of growth, and create long-term value for all of our stakeholders.”

Executive chairman Dreiling expanded his role, taking on the responsibilities of CEO earlier this year. During that time, he said the company rose to the historic opportunity to “retool its leadership ranks to face the challenges ahead with fresh eyes.”
