Amazon Centralizes Discount Offerings With New Access Hub

On the heels of announcing its new event, Prime Early Access Sales, Amazon has launched a new hub where customers can find programs, discounts, and additional Amazon shopping features.

The resource center, called Amazon Access, also provides information on Prime’s discounted membership program for qualifying government assistance recipients: Prime Access.

The hub comes as a result of customer feedback, which the company used to design its products and services.

“We found that many of our customers are looking for ways to save money and time, now more than ever,” said Amazon in a statement. “We know that online shopping is a big part of how they save, and that’s why we’re introducing Amazon Access, a hub to make shopping easier for all customers.”

About Amazon Access

Among the resources available are paying with SNAP EBT on Amazon, accessing Amazon layaway, signing up for Prime Access, finding additional discounts, and access to Amazon’s typical pay and pickup options.

Prime Access

Though the benefit has been available for about five years, the company recently named the discount program Prime Access. Eligible U.S. customers can sign up for Prime Access to receive a Prime membership at more than 50% off its full prices, paying just $6.99 per month. 

“Given the tough economic climate with many facing rising costs on essential needs, we want our customers to know about all the accessible offerings available on Amazon, no matter their circumstances,” said Amazon.

The benefits remain the same: free delivery, unlimited streaming, ad-free access to Amazon Music, free games, a one-year membership trail to Grubhub+, and more.

“By launching a new name, we’re excited to bring customers more visibility on how they can access Prime’s valuable benefits, exclusive perks, and savings,” said Amazon.

SNAP EBT

Customers with a valid SNAP EBT card in all states except Alaska can use their SNAP funds on eligible online groceries from Amazon.com, Whole Foods Market, and Amazon Fresh. The benefit comes with expedited, free shipping on eligible orders. 

Amazon Layaway

Consumers interested in shopping now but paying over time can access the layaway option from the hub. They pay 20% of the total price, lock in the full price, and pay the remaining balance over time.

Additional Discounts

Visitors to the hub will be able to find more discounts on household items, including clip coupons and savings through Amazon’s Subscribe & Save offering, which provides up to 14% off with free shipping on items scheduled for automatic delivery.

“While fast, free delivery is our cornerstone, savings has become an increasingly valuable aspect of the membership,” said Amazon. “Last year members of the program saved an average of over $1,600 from shipping savings, coupons, and membership discounts alone”

Other features include Amazon’s typical pay and pickup choices, access to language and accessibility options, and specialized customer support.
